RX4 dual piston system

Same system introduced with the Benelli M4, the pistons are located close to the action the gas goes through the ports push the pistons (they look like screws with cavities to let the right amount of gas to pass) they move the pistons backward a short lenght and push directly on the bolt. The rest of the gas is vented by the front plug.

How does a dual-piston system work?

Basicaly the same way a single piston system works, except there are 2 pistons that are more on the side/bottom than the bottom, or top.

As Toya said, they tap gasses from barrel ports, and use the gas to push the piston rods backwards.

In the case of the Benelli M4, they push directly on the "guide rail lugs" on the bolt carrier, eliminating any torquing stresses on the guide rail channels, or in that area (I would assume anyways)

Didn't know it was a problem, cool thx.

I dont think it really is a problem, because most other guns that use guide rails dont have the forces pushing right in line with the rails, but from a physics standpoint, eliminating the source of torque MAY help improve the lifespan of the parts (less torquing means less friction on parts etc...), of course this may be totally wrong, its just how my funny brain thinks things may work :p

If anything, it puts the forces on two points rather than one, and exerts less stress on the bolt carrier.
