is anyone else having trouble with sellier and bellot 338lm ammo failing to fire? Had 12 out of 60 and nearly 20 out of 80 fail to fire recently. Some hang fires. This particular lot of ammo is the only ammo that has given me any trouble. Anyone else?

Thanks

Would help if you said what type of rifle you had.
There are many reports of Savages having issues with harder primers for example. In that case it isn't the ammo but the rifle.
S&B primers are on the harder side I believe.
It could also be a bad batch of ammo from S&B. Are all the boxes the same batch number?

I didn't have any FTF with it, but I had a lot of extraction issues using that ammo.

same here..bought a few hundred rounds to blow off and had no issues with hang fires etc.although,a ##### to extract..not only is the extraction groove very narrow, but the cases are thin.cant even fit the once fired brass into my shelholder to see if it will even resize.savage 110 ba is what im using...cheers..grant

Funny, I was also using a Savage, a 111 Long Range Hunter, different have any other problems with other brass

I've had problems with S&B pistol ammo in the past, mainly with striker-fired guns. As above, I believe their primers are harder or less sensitive than other brands. I just stopped using S&B, and the problem solved itself.
Oh, and ditto on the brass. I've had terrible results reloading their .303 cases.

Have shot 2100 rounds to date of S&B, no issues, just the latest batch, all the same lot number. Just wondering if it happened to anyone else, as I have had nothing but good luck with S&B match. Its been incredibly accurate as well, more so than FGMM in this particular rifle.

Its not the rifle and no its not a savage.

.

as above. I've seen the s&b stuff not fire with glocks/m&p's, it appeared they had a thick(er) coating of lacquer on the primers. Had no problems using same stuff in my bhp.
