My post lady just drop off my new S&B 3X12X50 Zenith FD7 ... This one will top my Steyr Mannlicher Big Bore 450 Marlin to have a perfect 0-200 metres hard hitting rifle for moose, deer and black bear, the Flashdot is interresting for fast aquisition in thick brush, and the rifle is whorthy of more magnification since 225 yards is very easy with it... Pictures will be up when the rifle is complete... JP.

The FD7 on the 3-12 Zenith is so you can see the center of the reticle in low light, not fast acquisition at close range. For that, you'd want something like the FD 0 reticle in the 1.1-4 Zenith, which is a basic red dot.

It is a basic red dot in the middle of the cross in the FFP, very fast aquisition reticle... JP.

I know, I have the exact same scope on my 264 WM. The FD 0 is only a red dot, no reticle.

I find this way you get the best of both world, you get the high mag in FFP for long shot and on 3X on high intensity even in day light the red dot is very present, could have bought a 1X6X42 Zenith no dot for 300.00 less, i was better off getting this one for 1750.00 all in ( this was a great deal )... JP.

This is the optic that I choose for my Africa trip last year, it was fantastic and allowed me great advantage at dusk and dawn over my fellow Leupold users...

Yes, it's a great deal. The same scope in the US is $2700, and with the current exchange on the Euro, the new stock prices will be over $3000 on that scope here.

Yesterday at the farm, i went out after sundown and wanted to look tru my S&B at night with the red dot on the lowest setting... I have to conclude that is the most perfect scope for almost full night condition, only had a little bit of moonlight and i was able to shoot clay pidgeon in the sand pit from 50 yards ( i could see almost perfect), i am still amazed as the clarity is almost as good as one eyesight... This is just an incredible scope... Up to now this is the most efficient low light scope, i ever tried... I think one is not enough.... JP.

These scopes are so clear, it could buy you 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes at night more hunting due to clarity... JP.
