S.I.R replacement

Well, it took two months, many calls and emails, and finally a threat of Visa's collection dept. to go after them, but S.I.R finally sent me a replacement for my defective SKS I purchased last Nov. Its an unissued factory 26, all matching numbers, and from what I read on John Yooers site it should be a 1967. Looks great, I hope this one works.

im surprised you had to go so far as to have visa threathen them but it sound like they picked a good one for you , i also have a all matching factory 26 1967 and its a good shooter, after 300 rds, not one problem.:)
 
I had one with a bunk barrel. They inspected it, and gave me a replacement, no hassles. It depends largely on who you deal with, methinks. They've got a lot of retards there, but also a few great employees who care about customer service, and who you get makes all the difference.
 
SIR's customer service absolutly sucks!!!!!! there worse that the CFC!

this is not the first problem i've heard of or experienced.

i was in the store with a friend who bought a rem pump rifle. later that day while he was playing with it in the truck he realised the magazine would not fit in the gun. we went back to the store and talked to the same sales man. he said too bad he would have to go to remington for warranty. he made a few accurate comments about the service and what he thought of it and got escorted out of the store and asked never to come back.

i will never support SIR again and reccomend to everyone i know to do the same. they're not the only game in town.
 
On the plus side, when they did finally send it to me, they paid the extra $$ so I had it in 2 days, and the next day I received a follow up email from them once again appologizing for the problems I had, and the guy also gave me a direct number of someone in charge if/when I ever wanted to purchase anything from them again.
