Hello CGN, anyone know where I can order one of these in Canada? I found a site in state side but there seems to be issues it may get held up coming across or may not make it across at all. I found a couple of sites in Canada but they'll only sell to military or LE. Thanks in advance.

I don't think they're prohibited, I believe that Customs just won't allow importation. Customs makes its own decisions (come to think of it, so does the lab). At least I hope that's the case.

As a replica pistol it falls under the same classification as a fully functional pistol I believe.

I could be wrong but they need to be imported the same way and through the same channels as a standard restricted firearm.

The blue Glock chunk of plastic us the same situation.

No it's not a restricted or prohibited device. I purchased one a few years back from IRUNGUNS and it's a great way to hone your shooting skills without spending loads of dollars on ammunition. At the same time I purchased the LaserLyte Laser Training Target which visibly shows how well you are shooting. All in all well worth the investment.

Thanks, I'll look into IRG, I have heard it is a good trainer.

Customs has been blocking them, as a matter of policy. They won't allow them in, even though they aren't legally prohib - it's an interpretation thing. If Customs says no, that's it, like the lab saying that a GSG5 is an MP5 'variant', they're wrong, but there's really no way to effectively challenge it.

It isn't a replica - a replica doesn't do anything but look like a gun. Replicas aren't handled like a gun, they are simply forbidden. You can't get a license to own a replica firearm. Blue guns aren't replicas either, both the SIRT and the Blue Gun are classified by the police as training devices. Customs has decided to define the SIRT as a replica, and since they can't be challenged, most of us are stuck since they're in limbo. If you own one, the status is unclear, so if you want to sell it, it's a gray area. In short, you can have it, but you can't get it, and if you've got it, you can't sell it, but you aren't breaking the law. For what they are, they work very well, but given our dollar, and the fact that the Pro is now over $400 US, I can't see why you'd want to pay that.

This sounds like owning a FN or AK. You can possess it, you cannot use it, and you cannot dispose of it.

Is that a correct conclusion?

How so..... If IRUNGUNS can still import them into the country and sell them then obviously there is no restrictions on the SIRT pistols.

They haven't had any in well over a year. That should be a hint.

I spoke to Spencer at IRG, he confirmed they still sell it and can ship it across. I am thinking about taking the leap and buying, I know it's still not 100% guaranteed it'll make it across even if IRG says so....

If IRUNGUNS say they still sell the SIRT pistol and can ship it to Canada, believe me it will happen. They're in the business to make money, not string you along and in the end not deliver on their business promises.
