Hey guys...after launching my spring retainer clip, and plastic mag capacity plug across the man cave about 4 times Friday night...I decided to see if there was a better way to reinstall the retainer clip. I found out that excessive cursing...while therapeutic...doesn't actually help. :) Before I get told this is the B&G shotgun forum..relax~I was working on my 870P. I sometimes like to take the mag extension off to get a little weight off the whole deal. I keep a retainer clip, shorter spring, and mag nut in a zip lock bag, tacked to the wall.

Anyhow, my retainer clip is always up for a fight. Probably a little tight/out of spec, but an absolute BA***RD to get seated again. It was a miracle I found it 4 times. I decided to look on YouTube, and saw a video of someone using the factory follower for this roll, suggesting that it needn't be anything permanent/fixed. Put the S&J follower in place, the spring, then CAP the spring with the factory follower...then the mag cap. Done!

I'll likely order one directlly from S&J, but it looks like the shipping (even in Ontario) costs more than the follower itself. Wondering if any dealers in the GTA carry them.

Thanks!

Might not be GTA compatible, but I purchased one of the Simon S&J followers for my son's 870 while I was at Epps in Washago/Orillia. Might be a bit of a drive for you but I hope it can work for your 870 joy! :)

Cheers and keep helping them nooobs out there!
