S&J Hardware sling plates

I have an express barrel on a 870 Wingmaster, but the barrel does not have the spring-loaded ball-bearing detent. I was wondering if S&J's slingplates with the ball-detents will secure the Express barrel to the Wingmaster using the original WM magazine cap that has the dimples in it to lock up against the ball detent.

If there's a hole in your barrel ring and no detent and spring, then the sling plate might give the mag cap "some" purchase. But if there's no hole in your ring, the sling plate will not sit flat and may even pop that little ball bearing out of the plate.

Send your gun to a smith and have him drill and install a spring and detend as it should be. Easy install for one with the right tools and knowledge. $35. cost.
