S&J Jumbo Safety - Lefty

Hi there, is the jumbo safety interchangeable to use for lefties (installing the safety jumbo side on the left) to accomodate lefthanded shooters? Can't find anything on the net to clarify and was wondering if anyone could shed some light.

No it's not. You either need a left handed trigger plate assembly from Remington or you need an aftermarket safety like a Williams unit. Your local dealer can get the steel lefty safeties from western gun parts.

870 safeties are not reversible. (I'm assuming you are referring to the 870 which is kinda s&j's specialty.)

Confirmed out like many others are right handed only

That sade we are looking at doing a left handed safety as we do get asked alot.

They are actually not a complicated safety to make. You basically just cut an end mill slot in the safety to engage the detent with a couple digits in the bottom of the slot Simon. You guys could crank them out no sweat. I can make them on my lathe without a lot of difficulty, but usually just buy them as they come pre-painted and blued.
