S&J Linear Comp: Yay or Nay?

I’m thinking about ditching my 16” barrel for a 10.5” one and I was wondering what y’all think of the S&J linear comp? I don’t want to waste money if it’s going to suck. I would be shooting casually and indoors where a side vented comp is way too concussive. Thanks!
 
you might need a heavier buffer if you're running it on a shorter barrel, i know on my 8.5" i had to go from a h2 to a h3 with a linear comp
 
.223. 7.5”barrel (which is why i was looking for a linear comp)
I think it’s got an h2 buffer ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I can’t imagine that the buffer would affect groups to that extent
 
I have the Hera linear comp on my shorty which is similar to the s and j and it is a pleasure to shoot. Especially compared to the triple port i used to have on it.

Were there marks from the bullets hitting the comp?
Other than adding weight to the muzzle which could change the barrel harmonics the comp shouldn't change the accuracy much unless there is interference with the projectile.

I have a couple of them and they work well for directing the concussion down range. I'm not sure what you mean by if they suck though. Quality wise mine were built and finished well. There is no recoil reduction though other than the increased weight of the rifle with one if that's what you meant.
 
I have 2...one on a 10.5” barrel and one on a 7.5” barrel. They are well made and function as advertised. Price is right and they are made in Canada...no downside from my perspective.
 
Pretty favourable so far. Thanks for helping me spend my money!

CR5- by suck I meant if it isn’t good quality or if it has too many downsides like too much increased felt recoil.

I'm calling bull#### on this the only way there would be this much of a shift is if your optics are loose or you ####ed your barrel somehow putting it on or the rounds are contacting the comp but they would defiantly be leaving marks on it.
 
Well. Call bs all you want. I don’t see strikes on the comp. How exactly am I going to screw up my barrel? The gun shoots fine with the flash hiderback on it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ i can’t explain it. Maybe mine’s a lemon but i got no support. I’d LOVE to have a working one.

There's no way aside from rounds contacting the comp that you would get 33.5" of deviation I could hang a midget off the end of my ar15 and it wouldn't change that much.

Would the midget be alive or dead? I only ask because a live one would probably wiggle a lot and cause the gun to jerk...I can see a live midget causing significant deviation.
