i'm looking at getting one of these " no gunsmith " mount to put on my bubba Norwegian Krag. i've seen it done, and it worked. it looks like there is a band goin around the receiver ring. does this require modifiying the stock? if it does i'll forget about it and stick to peeps instead(it's already drilled and tapped for the willaims sight)

Kevin,
From what I understand there are no mods to be made to your gun EXCEPT if I recall the mag stop lever has to be pulled out to be used as the rear anchor point.

Talk to sidvicious, he has a mount in mind and I think it was this S&K you speak of.

Mine has already been sacrificed with a hideous Weaver side mount. I was shocked to shoot a one inch group using the 220gr Hornadys using the mount and a 2-7 Weaver.

I didn't think the S&K would fit the Norwegian(6.5x55) Krag. If so, I need one, my Norskie is way off with the irons and I want to deer hunt with it this year. Where to get one??? Thanks JITC ps Noel I hope you're not still P'off with me,JITC

Very possible I am wrong, I have very little knowledge of these unique little rifles but it is sure worth a try.

If someone has a bubba that could be D&T'd I have designed a side mount that will accept a Griffin&Howe setup. You may as well go with style, right?

I'll try to talk with sid and see what he thinks.

As for being cheesed, I guess time will heal all wounds...........
Check ebay for the non drill mounts, I see lots for K98's there, maybe gunbroker??????? First make sure it is okay to get such things purchased from there.

The S&K website clearly shows their mount on a Norwegian Krag(at least the stock is Norwegian). I e-mailed the company and thay said (back in the Spring) that they have no problems with Canadian orders.
