S&W 1006 D.A.O. 10mm Auto SS (HELP!!)

i can get one in excellent shape for $400. is this a deal? not many rounds through it, gun seems solid. what do yall say about this model? good? bad? grabbit? run like hell from it? any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance.

It's a great gun for the price. The 1006 soaks up recoil well due to it's all steel frame. Ammo cost may be an issue with the 10mm if you don't reload and you might not get the accuracy potential, due to it's DAO feature. If you don't mind the caliber and DAO feature, it's a great deal.

I wouldn't either normally but I have a fondness for 10mm's.

As far as I know, 1006 is single/double action, like DA revolver, for the first shot. Models 1046 and 1086 are DAO, see http://marina.fortunecity.com/harbour/347/10mm03.html .
