Would a M25 cylinder fit? Could I convert it to shoot 45 ACP with a M25 cylinder?

I haven't measured them recently, but I seem to recall that the ACP cylinder was somewhat shorter. I would not carve up a nice old N frame for this purpose. Sell it to someone who will appreciate it for what it is and buy yourself a 1917/1950/1955/25/625 instead. - dan

Even if a .45ACP cylinder could be installed, the barrel isn't correct for the ACP, so rounds would have to be handloaded to suit. If handloads are going to be the order of the day, why not just stay with the .455?
TradeEX does have new M1950 barrels.
Speaking of 1917s, I have a project grade Smith, which has one damaged cylinder locking notch. Any idea of where a replacement cylinder could be obtained?
