Been reloding for years but just started with the 460. I've been using various brass but have experienced case seperation and cracking about 1/3 the length of the brass up from the base. I've cut some in half and after only two or three firings they show a ring where seperation is starting. The brass measures at the proper over all length and I'm not shooting hot loads. I also shoot a 500 and have up to ten firings on some of that brass with no issues. Any one else had problems with 460 brass? What's up?

If you are using hornady factory ammo and are reloading the brass, its exactly what I have experienced with hot 460 reloads. I have some starline brass that holds up a bit better. I now only use the starline brass twice with full power loads and then use them for reduced loads only. I no longer use Hornady brass for any full house loads. Seems like the hornadys are springy and brittle. Starline seems abit softer and easier to use. I have also found the Hornady factory amm to bulge a bit. They certainly seem to be a HOT load!!

Great so I'm not the only one. Thought I was missing something. I was even trying to get a measurement of the cylinder spacing at the fireing pin point of contact. This has been driving me crazy and the brass is not cheap. Your right most of the brass giving me problems is from Hornady. Where are you getting the Starline?
