Hello I planing a move to "Hamilton ont to be closer to gf. I start the trouble tradeing off my pocket pistols that don't meet Canadian law for one reason or another. I I own a s&w 5906 9mm barrel is 102mm per s&w I need a a few a 105mm to be legal so I wondered if any one had any thoughts or knew of anyway to get a barrel or make the barrel the 3mm longer to be legal. I know i have to have a pal and stuff just thinking ahead for when I can bring the pistol home.

Any one know how to make me legal on this or do I have to trade off another pistol??

I posted that. My firing line id is 380acp as I was once very big into them. I trading or selling off most of my pistols to meet Canadian law to be with the woman I love full time. I got a pm says to post it on your guys forums say that you might know more about it.

What do you mean "As a backgrounder"

The barrels exist but are very hard to find. Questar (site sponsor) used to sell Barsto barrels for the 5906 that were 106mm but has long since sold out.

The problem is that those guns are not very popular so it was hard to get manufacturers to tool up to do runs on a limited number of odd ball length barrels.

Hmmm any ideas or anyone know of a p[lace that I could pick one up. It sound like a showed up the the pistol barrel party late lol

Call Barry of Bits of pieces (They have a website). He can probably do it and he handles the related paperwork. Should cost around 250-300$ max.

I had a 5906 reclassified from prohib to restricted done by Barry a year or so ago.
My total cost:

The amount due is
supply and fit barrel 330.00
postage, insured 25.00
HST 46.15
Total $401.15

Those of power get a piece of the action as well, even though they are trying to take them away from us at the same moment.:pirate:

Get it rebarreled I had Barry at Bits of Pieces do my 5906 last winter he did a great job and the gun is out of the stupid prohib class

Barry did a few guns with new barrels for me. A new barrel actually has to be about 107mm long. Barry's work is excellent. I suggest calling him to discuss the project. I don't have his phone number, but he's at Bits of Pieces in Delta, Brit. Col. But I think your real problem is that you can't bring it into Canada in its present form. I think your best bet is to call Barry and talk over the problem. He's done a lot of these and knows what can and can't be done. Good luck with it.
