S&W 686 barrel question

Just got a used 686 old version and I wanted one of those huge bull barrel with the rail on top . Can you buy just the barrel ? Its called a competitor barrel

Brownells used to sell them, don't know if they still do. Other barrels are available from barrel manufacturers, and the ones you are referring to are generally called PPC barrels for the type of competition they are usually used in. - dan

Clark's Custom guns in the states will have the barrel you are after. Murray Charleton I believe is back on his own building guns again. He is the man when it comes to PPC guns.

My brothers been tossing the idea around of selling his whole kit which is 686 with competitor barrel and an Aimpoint sight... Will ask him next time I see him where he got the barrel
