I am reach out to all the S&W revolver guys out there I have had some weird problems with two of my smiths. First I have a 17-4 and what starts to happen is if I am shooting it in double action, it is almost like the trigger locks half way back and it is like I have hit a wall. If I return the trigger forward or it will do it again. The only way it works is if I pull the trigger quickly and with lots of force but accuracy goes to sh$t. The pistol functions fine in single action. At first I thought maybe it needs a good cleaning.
I pick up a near mint 27-2 and it is starting to do the same thing. Pistol functions fine in single action. When action and cylinder work find if I dry fire it in double action.
My question is are they both just gummed up? The member I bought the 27 said he did a full clean and lube and believe him. Would have my forcing cone become leaded up I have it shot maybe 100 rds through the 27? The only other thing I can think of is my over round length may be just a tad to long , except the same rounds function flawless through my 28-2. Is my timing off both revolvers ?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciate .
