Is there any S&W Smiths in AB? I have a 629 Classic that hasn't worked right from brand new. One cylinder will not lock on single action. Beyond my capabilities to fix.
 
Unforunately there are no S & W warranty stations in Canada. It was a great loss when Murray Charleton retired.

I would seriously look into seeing what you have to do, to get it to S & W in the US. That won't be cheap or quick.

If this hasn't worked right from the day you bought it, what took so long?

Came into my possession brand new during the handgun freeze pandemic from my wife's family member who had died. Was probably a year before I had really played with it. I didn't purchase it brand new myself.
I wasn't looking for a warranty center. Just a S&W Certified Smith or A Smith confident in S&W revolvers.
As for Murray Charleton, I'm lucky enough to have a 19-4 done up by him in the safe, One of my favorites.
