Just aquired a very nice M -19 Combat Masterpiece in a 6" target version that appears to have had only lead target loads through it as it's still very tight and in time mechanically. Can anyone out there venture an educated guess as to what a fair market price for this one would be as the blueing is still very good with no discernable wear and the rifleing appears to be still very good also_Overall this piece is in excellent condition.Bought it from a dealer.

This can give you an idea of the value. Currency is in US dollars

Q:I own a 99 percent-condition S&W Model 19-3 in .357 Magnum with a 6-inch barrel. The original box is marked "Finish B+"; all of the original paperwork is in it. My grandfather bought the gun in 1958 for $225. I'm not sure if he ever fired it--I haven't yet. The serial number is 9-K66-###. I was curious if you could give me an idea on the value, rarity and collectability of this piece. --A.B., via e-mail

A: Smith & Wesson introduced the Model 19-3 in 1967 with the design change of relocating the rear-sight leaf screw, indicated by the "-3" designation. Your serial number indicates a 1976 production range. The Model 19 underwent five more design changes before it was discontinued around 1999. This revolver is not particularly rare, and based on your 99 percent-original condition, current value is in the $300 range.
