S&W M&P 9 problem?

either your not letting off the trigger enough for reset at that time, or the slide it partially out of battery so the sear is not getting tripped.

Try letting the trigger out all the way for each shot - see of there's an issue. If not, then there's a false reset (assuming the slide is in battery) you can smooth this out by polishing the FPB and the FPB extension on the trigger bar. You can accentuate the genuine reset by very gently (VERY gently) flexing the trigger bar toward the center line of the pistol.

I kept doing the same thing with my trigger because I wanted to test one solution at a time to see what the problem was. I flexed the trigger bar in a bit and it happened 0/100 rounds. It seems like it worked. Also my reset feels even more apparent now, does that make sense or is that just in my head?

Dead trigger. Welcome to American engineering....A new trigger bar will likely solve that but good luck finding one. Call SW service.

Clearly NOT "dead trigger" which was fixed about 3 years ago and which did not affect the pistol in question, and which had nothing to do with the trigger bar - but thanks for playing.

Maybe you'd like to shoot mine - at 43000 rounds it's perfect - while we're talking about Randy why don't I show you the email chain where I begged him to register with USDOS so we could get Apex sears in Canada, or the one where we discussed oversized sear and locking blocks to increase accuracy. The OP wasn't allowing the trigger to fully reset - he thought he was, he was attempting to reset off the FPB. Sorry about your 2012, life sucks I guess. M&P Forum member since '07.

Incidentally:

In Internet slang, a troll (/ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people,[1] by posting inflammatory,[2] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a forum, chat room, or blog), either accidentally[3][4] or with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[5] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[6]

"Welcome to American Engineering" - that's not trolling at all, actually from the tone, I though you were the re-incarnation of a guy who got kicked off here a while back, what with a whole month here (he went red last December)

I was letting the trigger reset all the way. The trigger bar was the issue, but flexing it in towards the center line of the pistol 2mm was all it needed. I don't need a new trigger bar. Over 500 rounds now with no issues since the "fix"

Good to hear it. Reference the "American Engineering" the trigger bars are stamped steal and not the most consistent. SW also has loose tolerances so from one gun to the next there may be similar problems caused by different issues. I hope she runs smooth for you now. When the MP trigger is pulled fully to te rear the trigger bar does flex a little. Over time this may undue your tweak and you may need to do it again. Randy at Apex says he's working on a new trigger bar that will eliminate any of the issues that have happened over the past few years.

As for enefgee we may have gotten off to a bad start. I'm not looking to pick a fight with anyone and I'm deffinately not a reincarnation of an old forum member who was kicked off. Just someone who loves the MP platform but has struggled to get a customized MP to run consistently. (Has been running good for past 8 months - knock on wood).

I'm glad I had a look at this thread, it's always good to know what might come up. I'm new to the M&P 9mm. So far I am happy with it, I have replaced the factory trigger with the Apex Duty and Carry kit, and it's a HUGE leap forward over the factory setup. Very unscientific right now, but the gun is shooting really nicely with my 147gr reloads.

Now over 2500 rounds fired since the fix and not one mishap. Flexing the trigger bar in 2mm was absolutely all it needed.
Thanks enefgee I believe you suggested I tweak the trigger bar towards the center line of the pistol. Worked like a charm
