Only for those who want to use optics. For everyone else the regular PRO of even a full size with a Apex kit will do the same job.

The new palmswells do look interesting, I wonder if the whole line-up will get them at some point.

I migh just order the palm swell as they look like they might have more grip then the regular M&P. Still, it's nice they offer a optics-ready pistol for those that want it.

What's with the honkin' big sights. :sok2 Those things are freakin' huge.

So you can get co-witness with the RDS.

People can laugh all they want, but RDS on pistols is the going to be the norm, just like you see on most black rifles. It's something I'll eventually do to my Glock, once I'm comfortable that I have a reasonable level of proficiency with irons.

Dang i hate RDS on pistols. I've shot 3 different kinds and finding the dot right out of the holster is not natural. The best part about glocks is that the height of the sights over your grip is the most minimal. the rds kills that and to find the dot is odd. I like the simplicity of pistol irons. That being said I am not huge on rds on rifles either. Maybe I'm just an a$$hole. who knows,
