S&W M&P15-22 Price?

Any BC LGS that sells the smith and Wesson M&P 15-22? did anyone see them in stock anywhere? What is the Canadian price on these things(couldn't find'em online)? Any owners, what are your opinions on the rifle?

New you can expect to pay $500+tx and maybe more for the MOA edition, everyone seems sold out right now, but I'm pretty sure I saw some listed on SFRC's site at one time. I just bought one privately and don't know how it shoots yet cuz I don't have my LTATT yet, but based on the impressions I get from YouTube vids, it ought to be fun

I paid $550+tx for the MOE version last January from SFRC. It's an awesome rifle. Very reliable and a ton of fun to shoot. It sucks that it's restricted and the mags are limited to 10 rds, but I love this gun. If you're like me and do most of your shooting at the range anyway then get one - you won't regret it.

s@w forums have a sub forum just for the 15/22.... lots of interesting info,,,,

jp yellow reduced pull trigger spring set (brownells)only use the trigger spring from the set
allen screw to reduce creep ...access under the grip ..screw not supplied.. if you adjust tripple check with bump test..
reported issues with the extractor set.... take out bolt ... hose down with wd40.. flushing out the extractor set channel .. relube.. drop of oil on extractor set before every use
this rifle was designed for hv ammo......... if bulk 1280 fps is causing problems...stovepiping ect try 1400 fps or better

WARNIN initial cost of this firearm is cheep compared to the extra's you will be purchasing

Just my two cents worth, A Ruger SR22 is a non restricted with no limit on the rounds in the mag. Shoot it any where unlike the M&P 15 22. For those 2 reasons I have a SR22.

I agree grumpy!! I would never buy a plastic restricted 10rnd .22
I have the sr22 aswell and love it!!

It all depends on what you want. If you want to practice drills on the AR platform, then the SW MP15-22 is the only one out there with the proper ergonomics.

If you want to shoot anywhere, then you will need a non restricted.

I "heard" that there is a 25-rd mag that has been modified so it won't work with the pistol, so it's legal at full capacity in Canada.

Can anyone confirm?

I bought the MOE version a few years ago from SFRC. Can't remember how much it was. I do almost all my shooting at the range anyway, so the restricted thing is a non-issue for me, and the bottom line is this gun rocks. I probably have somewhere in the neighborhood of 5k rounds through it, and other than an issue with the ejector when I first got it (which a quick youtube search and 2 minutes with a screwdriver fixed) it's been flawless. Buy one, you won't regret it.

Go to Questar, buy the Blackdog Machine 10/22 drum magazine AND the BD-S&W-DRUMTK (M&P15-22 replacement tower kit). Both are in stock (just checked). 50 rounds of fun!! I love mine.

I have owned 2 different M&P 15-22s. They are great rifles. I bought the standard model, brand new, from Grouse River back when the S&W 25 round mags were legal. The restricted status did not bother me, because, at the time, I did all my shooting at a range.I then sold it and bought a lightly used MOE version. I loved that one too until I got a letter from the RCMP telling me I was limited to 10 round mags. That took the fun out of it for me. I sold the S&W and got a CMMG .22 conversion bolt with BD 25 round mags for my AR. Then I also got an SR-22 as I started to do more shooting away from the range. I like the SR-22, it is very reliable and great fun, but I really miss being able the push out one pin and field strip the rifle in 3 seconds like you can with an M&P or AR. The SR is definitely more work to field strip and clean.

I noticed 2 different 15-22s for sale on the EE in the last few days.
