Hello everyone,

I am looking at purchasing my first pistol and I really like the M&P9, specially the 5' barrels. I was wondering what the main differences were between the M&P9 Pro and the M&P9 CORE and even with the M&P9 2.0 (I know that those don't have the 5' barrel). I was looking to get opinions from experienced shooters regarding these three pistols.

Thanks in advance,

Phil.

M&P Core an outstanding auto in 9mm at a very fair price too. The M&P Pro share the same barrel length but no optics later.
You must decide what your application is and choose then.
All the majors make standard autos and the same auto with an optic option: S&W, Glock, CZ, Sig, Canik....a lot of this choice comes down to price.
I have yet to embrace optics autos, but the choices keep getting better.......!

I had an M&P Pro Series 5 inch with fiber optic site in 40 S&W and another one identical in 9mm.
I liked them both very much. Accurate and reliable (I liked the feel of them more than a Lone Wolf Custom Glock type pistol I used to own.)
I sold the M&P's when my small collections direction changed. Other than that I would still have them.

The M&P9 M2.0 is quite different from the other two. There is a metal chassis in the frame to stiffen it and make it more accurate. The trigger group is improved. There’s much more aggressive stippling on the grip and palmswell (and you get 4 sizes). The tendency of the slide to unlock and move into battery when you slap a new magazine in has been fixed. Finally there are incised grip zones at the front and back of the slide for racking. Those are the major points though I may have missed one.

I use mine for IDPA competition and it’s a very improved model over the original. Now I just need somebody to buy my old M&P9.

just to clarify something, the M&P CORE is also a PRO model, its true name is a PRO CORE.
so they are the same gun just the CORE has the optics ready cuts and plates.
