I have an older M41 with the long barrel and comp and cocking indicator. I'm having trouble with the slide staying open on the last shot. Doesn't matter whether I change springs or ammo velocity, same thing.

Various suggestions have been to change the slide or try bending the slide stop up a little to see if it may help. The slide is worn where it rubs against the slide stop. No doubt the slide itself is much softer than the stop itself.

Any thoughts on the best course here?

Sounds like you need a new slide stop. I believe this part also functions as the ejector.

Don't try & bend the old one until you have a new replacement. After years of use they become very brittle & break easily.(Been there, done that:( )

Thanks for the tip Rod. I'll order a new slide stop. A helluva lot cheaper than a complete new slide which I'm trying to avoid.
