S&W mod 29-3 4" 12(6) value?

I have a 29-2 but the thing that makes it 'cherry' is the S&W factory ivory grips on it.

I've been offered more for the grips than the gun is worth. Just to add to the overall 'profile' I have also had Milt Sparks make up an Elmer Keith holster for it, to 'complete' the 'ensemble'.

:)Thanks guy, and sorry but yes, I do have kids. There are a number of firearm enthusiasts in the family. To date, the only one really spoken for, but I'm sure that'll change in time, is a model 4000 Husqvarna Light Weight that I had pasted down to me when my Dad passed away.

Seems that the only other right hander is one of my Granddaughters so when shes old enough, it'll go to her. I started prepping her for that day a couple of years back during a baby sitting session. ;)With help from her 'Poppa' and Walmart, she 'bagged' her first Bear:p.

Lol, well id be after your elmer keith gun with the holster.

The 29-3 is probably going to be the least collectible of the S&W M29 revolvers. This is the revolver which had a host of issues with timing and poor QC. Care must be taken with this pistol shooting any full power 44 Mag ammunition as the -3 has had issues with the revolver not locking after a shot is fired and rotating out of battery. First series M29 to have unpinned barrels, no rim recess (non-counterbored) cylinders and first not be shipped in a simple cardboard box. Cost cutting at its worst.

Value of the gun is about $400 - $500 on the used market in Canada.

I love that I have 12(6) on my license. I also hate that 12(6) exists. Things would be so much less complicated if this change in the law had never happened. This is the reason why I don't buy gun magazines anymore. There are too many goodies that I drool over but will never be able to own....I hate the liberals!!....There! Now I feel better.
