S&W model 10 Variants?

I recently accquired a beauty of a S&W model 10 it's a custom as it's got a colt python 6" barrel on her, however one thing i been curious about is how to tell what variant this baby is?.

I like to know all the details of my guns and figure this would be the best place to ask for tips.

Open the cylinder, look at the frame where the crane sits, you'll see Mod 10-x the "X" is the revision number. Then you'll need a book to track the changes

I guess you can call it a Smolt or Smython.

Barrel is marked 357 but you can only shoot 38spl in it.

Do you have a pic?

Bill Davis a US gunsmith used to build them in the 70s and 80s, check under the grips for his mark.
He used different S&W frame size even Ruger frame.
