I would like some input on this DA Revolver. Pros and Cons please. Value of a good one might be nice to know as well. Thanks in Advance, Eagleye.

Good revolvers, I believe the 3 series of 29 was where they dropped the barrel pin and the recessed chambers, but didn't put in the beefed up lockworks yet. Barrel lengths would have been 3", 4", 6", and 8 3/8", maybe 10" (I don't remember when they stopped making the sillouhette model. I wouldn't use one for silhouette or anything where full load 44 loads were going to number in the hundreds each time out, but I would certainly use one for casual target shooting, and hunting. Keep in mind there are some 44 loads out there that were specifically designed for Ruger Redhawks, and will shake a S&W loose in short order. Stay away from the 300 gr Corbon and Buffalo bore stuff and you should be alright. I have 8 N frame Smiths at the moment, good revolvers. Value of a 29-3 will depend on condition, and to a lesser extant, which barrel length it has. Figure anywhere from $300 to $600. - dan
