I don't order from the US. I don't get the forms, seriously I have tried 4 times and Brownells tells me I have filled it out wrong. So I won't fill them out any more.
I admit I am not the sharpest knife in the carving block. I just can't seem to fill the forms out properly. That's 1.
Two I'd rather support and help build a Canadian dealer or net work of dealers.
But I did cheat and buy a whole whole wack of holsters, magazines, springs and various other components off the shelf when I was in the US last year for my 1911 and GSG. There is still "stuff" I'd like to have or just try but I won't do cross border traffic in the goodies you're not supposed to, ie. barrels and ammunition. I do it legal from within Canada.
I will check Epps for springs, bought my first pistol from them back in 1963. I've got a line on a 5.5" barrel and another in 5" (a cut down 7") but I can't freaking believe the prices of replacement barrels when I can find them in Canada. More than the extortionate price I paid for my Model 41. With NOTHING new from the factory.
Springs and a small parts emergency kit so far have been even more elusive than a barrel. Springs, firing pin, ejector, all those little things I like to have on hand "just in case"
My "just in case box/bags" for the 1911 and GSG-22 are pretty extensive.
