Just thought that I would throw this out. I backordered a new S&W Model 41 and the price at the time was $1249 and now they are listing it at $1499. I called them today and they said that they will not honor the $1250 as per original order. Would you pay $1499 for a Model 41?

Man you and I have similar tastes you're always popping up in threads that interest me.

I'm in the same dilemma, can't find a good used one and not sure about paying $1499 retail with 12% tax here.

I had one years ago, when I started getting serious in bullseye/paper punching shooting. A 5 1/2" and it had the extendable front sight. It's another example of getting rid of something I should've kept but at that time, I found I 'needed' and couldn't live without a Walther GSP with all the .22/.32 and dryfiring 'trimmings'. That's since left for a new home as well. Fairly recently I picked up four decent .22 target pistols

one of which was another 5 1/2" model 41, but without the extendable front sight.

It was a package deal and would say I got the 41 for $750.oo - $800.oo

That would be $1499 plus tax here so $1693.87 which is a lot of cash for a Model 41. I bought one used for $850 and have seen a couple for sale at the club for $800 and $850. Personally at the price of new and used that is why I went with used.

I like my 41, but I paid a lot less than $1500 for it. Used ones are fairly common for much less than the new price.

you ordered it at one price and now the retailer won't honor that price?! I'd be taking my business else where and telling all my friends to do the same. Once they took your deposit it was a contract. knobs.....
hunt around, as said, used ones in good shape slide thru under a grand all the time, i picked up a nice 60's gun for 800
