I'm looking at taking in a S&W model 53 in .22 remington jet, with the original box, and all of the .22lr cylinder inserts, but not the .22lr cylinder. It would come with 180 rounds of .22 rem jet and reloading dies for .22 rem jet. I know these are becoming more collectors pieces as they are no longer in production. It seems to be in great condition, unknown round count but estimated to be very low, and I was wondering the approx value?

These aren't my pics, so if the seller objects to me sharing I'll be pulling them out of respect. Here they are for now to see if I can get someone to give an approx value.

Any help in figuring out the value is appreciated, thank you.

Made from 1960 - 1974. There was a three screw and a four screw version and looks like yours is the lesser value three screw. In 90% condition, guesstimate from the pics, with the ammo $500.00 - $600.00.

If you can get that for 500 to 600 dollars buy it. With dies and brass and the same thing you are showing in the pictures less the box I paid over $800.00 and a buddy of mine paid 800 just for a gun. I know there are deals out there but they are getting harder and harder to find all the time and they are real neat to shoot.

Hi if that gun has the forth screw above trigger guard than its the early model jet 1961 this is when they were first made. This gun worth 750-800 right off the start even if it don't have the original walnut dymond target grips. If you can get it cheaper than that goe for it there a blast to shoot. Theres quite abit involved in reloading this round its not for everyone LOL!!.. Beleive me i know i reload for it.

Just had a look at Gunbroker and in the $800.00 range for some well used ones on there. So, my initial $ thoughts are probably low but then again I'm not into collecting just shooting.
