Hi All,
I have a S&W Mountain Gun that I have been considering selling for some time now, and am wondering what would be a fair value to place on it in order to sell it. I have plenty of time so I'm not looking at a blowout sale price.
I bought the gun new back in the early mid 90's can't remember exactly, probably have the paperwork somewhere. It has seen very little use with perhaps 100 rds of magnum loads and probably less than 200 rds of more like44 special loads. No modifications were ever done to this gun, condition looks v/g to excellent, since it's stainless the only real mark I can see is a light line around the actual cylinder? where it indexes. I also have a Galco high ride leather holster with thumb break that fits this gun excellent.

Thanks for all input, Homesteader

Even though it is a 12(6) prohib, the N frame Smith's do seem to hold their value a lot better than the smaller framed revolvers. You might be able to get what Dan said above, the only way to find out is put it on the EE and see what happens. According to my S&W book the Mountain Gun with the 4" tapered barrel was made in '93 and '94.

Thanks for the replies guys. You are correct Silverback, I dug up my paperwork and I bought it Nov 11/93. Still unsure as to whether I sell it, I'm kinda leaning towards keeping it. If I sell it I'm looking at replacing it with a Blackhawk in .45 LC., but I've already got the holster, dies, and a whack of bullets for the .44.

Thanks again, Homesteader
