I searched a couple of pages to see if anyone has already asked, but doesn't look like it.
S&W MP-15's - anyone out there own one/shot one? I am really thinking about picking one of them up. I had a chance to fondle one at the local shop, and they seem well built, and carry a good name - also they seem a little more affordable than many other manufacturers. Can anyone comment on any aspect of these rifles?
Thanks!

I love mine, i picked it up for 1600 with tax at a local shop, american made, very accurate, have not had a jam yet and its just a good brand. Shoots the exact same as the colts my friends on the ert team use.

i recommend it for sure

Both my brothers own one each. I have shot theirs a couple times and love it. if only I could afford the price tag right now. they are great. My tyounger brother has an adapter to shoot 22's aswell its a nice gum.

I bought one in Jan. of this year. My first AR, no regrets.

It works (even in -35c), every time I pull the trigger it goes bang.

When I first got mine home I tore it completely apart. I greased it & lubed it where the internet vids told me to. Then I figgured 'lets see how long it will go with out a cleaning'....... When I hit 1500 rnds of .223 & 1700rnds with a .22LR conversion I finally cleaned it, not that it needed it, but I figgured it was time.

You won't regret buying a M&P-15 but here are some things you need to know.
*No flash hider & the barrel isn't threaded.
*Barrel is 17".
*It comes with 2 butt stocks, a 6 positsion collapsable and a fixed stock (make sure you get both if buying new)
*One mag is included. mine was a 5/20
*Re-read Novan 3's post. ***Notable specs; M4 feedramps, F marked FSB, MP marked bolt, chrome bore.***

Cheers!

X2 on the above - had mine for about a year and no problems whatsoever. Works well irrespective of ammo. Personally I don't care about a flash hider but that is the only downside if you are looking at possible negatives.

i own two of them and couldnt be happier. Converting the second one to a 10.5 barrel once i get some funds. The first one is almost done just need the ambi safety and its good to go, have lots of mods on that one.
