S&W MP15 - Sport

Interested in this as well. I'm concerned that they may not export it due to it being 5.56 instead of .223 - not sure if that's a problem but I recall hearing that somewhere. Hopefully we can get it with the collapsible stock and pinned 30-round mags. Love that medium-contour barrel, looks like it would be a good gun for plinking and competition.

From what I understand about the situation down south is these things are flying off the shelves and almost impossible to keep in stock. No one seems to care about the dust cover or forward assist missing, and everyone seems to be happy with the reliability, accuracy, and build quality for the money. I'd rather have the S&W than the Norinco, myself.

I'm interested in the Canadian estimated price? Guys in the States i've read have bought them for under $600, what do you think they'll go for here?

I was looking into buying a S&W AR last year. I talked to the guys at Lanz shooting and they told me that he could only bring in one model ( can't remember which it is I'll check with him ) but I know he was selling them @ $1299. A buddy of mine bought one for his wife. It shoots awesome but only comes with a 16" barrel I think.

If it were under $1000 in Canada i'd expect it to sell well. For a new AR I'd say only Norc and NEA are that cheap and the Smith seems to be getting better reviews.

Shouldn't be a problem since a 95% majority of AR's are labeled as 5.56... You know, since they are AR's, and are following the NATO cartridge made for it.
Thats my guess anyway.

I'm quite interested in a flat top one, especially if it comes with the US price tag! :D

I would hope to see pricing similar to the M&P Pistol markup. Pistol lists for $570 MSRP, retails for about $50 more in Canada. Rifle retails for 50% more, and mark up would be 50% higher as well. Both are restricted arms from the same manufacturer. Both are in high demand on both sides of the border. If Smith and Wesson brought it in for under a grand, it would blow off the shelves. If it was under nine-hun they wouldn't even reach the shelves, pre-orders would probably take a year to fill. $850 and I'd buy two.

The Core 15 stuff is a huge value, but S&W is S&W, it's an irrational, emotional connection for me!

Does anyone know what the SKU is on this?

Thanks,

It certainly looks like a solid, no frills rifle at a great price. I like the 1/8 5R Melonite barrel, sounds like a winner to me. I'd prefer the lightweight profile they use on the VTAC or Magpul editions but at that price who can argue.

So North Sylva, what say you, can these be brought in?

I love the thought of this riffle. I would be one of the first ones to buy one and jump on that wagon if someone would get them imported.

I hope nobody minds me posting this video from Nuttinfancy on his M&P Sort review. I really really want one!!!
