Smith & Wesson Names Professional Shooter Julie Goloski as Consumer Program ManagerSPRINGFIELD, Mass. (June 6, 2006) - Smith & Wesson Corp., the legendary 154-year old global provider of products and services for safety, security, protection and sport, today announced that it has named Julie Goloski to fill the post of Consumer Program Manager and to serve as the newest member of the Smith & Wesson Professional Shooting Team. Goloski will oversee Smith & Wesson's customer loyalty program, Club 1852, and will represent Team Smith & Wesson in a variety of shooting competitions throughout the year.
In her new role as Consumer Program Manager, Goloski will lead efforts to expand Club 1852 through new marketing initiatives. Created in 2004, Club 1852 is designed to serve Smith & Wesson's most loyal customers and to strengthen the company's awareness of current consumer interests and needs. In addition to her role as Consumer Program Manager, Goloski will work to expand Smith & Wesson's shooting sports programs.
Goloski began her career as a professional shooter at the age of fourteen when she won her first Ladies Sectional Championship. In 1995, her talents were recognized by the U.S. Army, which recruited her to shoot for the Army Action Shooting Team. After high school graduation, Goloski departed for U.S Army Basic Training at Ft. McClellan. Upon completion, Goloski served in the U.S. Army as a member of the Action Shooting Team and as a firearms instructor for elite fighting units for over seven years. During her military career, Goloski advanced to the rank of Staff Sergeant and was awarded several medals including: the Meritorious Service Medal and the U.S. Army Female Soldier Athlete of the Year in 1999. Upon the conclusion of her military career, Goloski joined Team Glock and won several global and national action pistol competitions. Her long list of accomplishments include: the reigning USPA Production and Limited-10 Ladies National Champion, IDPA Ladies National Champion, SCSA Steel Challenge Ladies Stock World Champion, 4-time World Champion, 8-time National Champion and over 65 major tournament titles in action shooting pistol disciplines.
Goloski also has extensive experience in advertising and public relations and has been featured on several television programs such as Shooting USA, Sighting In and Shooting Gallery. In addition, Goloski has served as one of three lead instructors for USPA/IDPA's Babes with Bullets Ladies Camp pioneered by Kay Clark-Miculek and Debbie Ferns, Camp Director and author of "Babes With Bullets, Women Having Fun With Guns."
