I was looking at a stainless S&W Model 63 .22 Cal revolver, but in 12-6 class.
I don't know much about them but I like the way it felt in the hand.
I am just interested in the opinions from members of CGN that have shot or owned them.

I have had a couple over the years. They were quite accurate but not as easy to shoot as the k-frame .22 because they are quite light. They would make an excellent trail or tackle-box gun if we could do that up here. not much else to say--excellent quality, light, accurate. I used one of mine to teach my kids to shoot a handgun because they were light and accurate.

I had one years ago, I really liked it,I wish smith would make them in a 106 mm,or better yet we could get rid of this 12.6 crap here .( thanks to Allan Rock we are all so much safer)

I have one and love it.

It's a 5" but still balances quite nice.

The trigger is not as nice as a 686 but it's still good. DA is smooth and SA is short and crisp.

I also have a 6" 617 and haven't brought it out for years because of the 63.

I've changed the grips to factory pro versions.

If you have a chance, get one...because they are discontinued...the 5" that is.

Good luck.

I read they brought out an 8 shot model but it wouldn't be as compact as the 6 shooter.
The one I looked at had wood finger groove grips that made it fit like a glove. Hogue one piece finger groove grips are similar.
I made the owner a proposal, he will let me know tomorrow if he wants the trade.
If I get it I will post some pictures.
I found this thread on another site and it was interesting. Fill in the space between the two t's to go to the site.
