Taurus Raging Bull

I've always wanted a big bang revolver hand cannon.

Upon doing some research I've settled on .44 MAG due to ease of finding it in stores and relatively reasonably priced (especially when compared to .50AE or .500 S&W). I don't reload as of yet, so its factory ammo for me.

Taurus:
  • I've got to take a look at the 6.5" version at my local gun shop. I like the grip, weight, and feel for it. Even the strip on the back of the grip feels comfortable in my hands.
  • Much lower price over the S&W
  • Personally I think the Taurus looks better than the S&W.

S&W:
  • Also, looks bad ass when compared to the Taurus.
  • Much more expensive. But does this extra cost really translate into that much more quality? Dont know.
  • Was not able to handle this gun as I have not found a retailer that carries it.

Has anyone got to play with either or both of these firearms to help me make my decision?

Basically this boils down to the following; I love the look of the Taurus and the way it feels in my hands. The price also has got me very interested as it is very affordable. But S&W is well known for making very high quality products and I'm wondering if the extra cost is warranted.

IMHO...There is no comparison,,,S&W all the way, however, i would not consider this kind of cal. or any of the other ones you mentioned without gearing up to reload first.

ON a couple of US sites that I go on esp. "Cast boolits", Taurus is a "dirty word", their products and warranty are not held in high regard....In the case of handguns, US users should have a good opinion on these matters as they tend to use/carry/hunt handguns more then we do...just based on that, I would stay away from Taurus...though I have never used one and prolly never will, in keeping with my policy of buying N/A products whenever possible.

Buy the S&W and it will last you a lifetime if you choose to keep it that long I doubt the Taurus will ever come close to matching that. Just my two cents worth and yes by the way I have all the big S&W Revolvers and I mean all of them.

^^^, oh wow. I've never seen high res shots of the stealth hunter. Do you have any more? From that teaser it appears to be much better build quality over the Taurus.

Two questions:

1. What is your favorite big revolver?

2. Where did you buy them? I haven't found a retailer that carries the stealth hunter.
