S & W Wood Grip recommendations for K frame....

Hello My fellow CGN'ers. Can anyone offer assistance on wood grip recommendations for a square butt K frame?
Thanks to a fellow member, I have acquired a beautiful K frame that comes with the factory S & W Target grips.
They look beautiful, but I have small to medium hands, and they are just too big for me. It is a case of the Magnas being too small and the Targets being too big. Can anyone help point me in the right direction? Maybe the factory "combat finger groove grips, or an aftermarket alternative?

My favourite wooden revolver grips were Ahrends "Retro Target" grips. They had the classic look of factory Target grips but were smaller to allow for a better fit.

Here's a pair I had on a Model 25-2 I used to own. I've got small hands and they fit me well.

Magnas with a Tyler T adapter do it for me and my medium sized hands.

Maybe try the 'Target" stocks from Thailand sold on Ebay? I seem to remember reading on the S&W forum that they are smaller than the OEM target stocks from Smith & Wesson

I really liked them--they fit the look of the classic revolvers very well, and the finish on them was just the right balance between grippy and slippery. Here's another type of wood on a Model 28-2 I used to own:

I have tried everything under the sun (wood wise) on my 17, 19 and 29 and always end up back installing my rubber Pachmyer Presentation grips.
Wood is nice but so is comfort and control.

I liked Pachmayr grips but the issue I had with them was that their Presentation grips' enclosed backstrap made the trigger reach too long and I found their "Gripper" grips' finger grooves never lined up with my fingers. And, I never liked how they looked on a blued revolver, although on a stainless or nickel I thought they looked pretty good.

Mine don't have finger grooves, and I hear what your saying about the enclosed backstrap (I have small hands).

Still, they always seem to end up being my go to grips in the end.

My perfect revolver rubber grip would be Pachmayr Presentations with an open backstrap for those of us with smaller hands. I found that even shooting one-handed with magnum loads the Ahrends grips were still comfortable.

Google them and give them a shout. Judy Ahrends will redirect you to a reseller who ships to Canada, has really fair prices and takes plastic (Ahrends doesn't do credit card orders). That shop has a good selection in stock and can order in anything that Ahrends makes.

Don't get the Retro Ahrends! They have very annoying squared edges on them. Ended up filling and sanding those edges off, just to make them tolerable.

Are you thinking of the flat area on the front of the grips? Ahrends "Tactical" (I think that's what they're called) have that (I didn't like it either) but the Retro Targets have a round cross-section like traditional grips.

Funny, after years of trying different wood grips on my S&W wheelguns I prefer Pachmayrs on all of them now.

Ahrends "Retro Target" have a flat bottom and a round cross-section. Ahrends "Tactical" have a curved bottom and a flat area on the front of the grip that I didn't like. Is that what your thinking of? This is what they looked like on the Model 25-2:
