SA Black Special @ Italian (Vancouver)

I was in Italian sporting goods last weekend and I found the "Black Rifle" of my dreams! The Swiss Arms Black Special. I thought I had it made .223, semi auto, NON Restricted and cool as hell, then I saw the price:eek: They want $3700 for the thing! Should I just forget this gun all together? If the answer is yes then what is an affordable non restricted black rifle in .223 or .308?

Italian Sporting Goods are always well stocked but they have a reputation for being very expensive.

I totally agree. They don't usually want to talk about matching a competitor's price or even coming down when confronted with a better price. Not as welcoming as Reliable either but I still stop by and buy from them as they are close to my house.

R. Nichols (also known as FN Sports) is not a regular dealer but a distributor/ wholsaler that sells direct to dealers and govt. agencies. Phil.

True, except that they cherry pick what product goes to dealers and very frequently, their most interesting stuff (I'm thinking HK, FAN and SIG black rifles in particular) gets purposely not distributed to dealers who sell to civvys.

Just my experience of them...

R. Nichols is the Govt./police supply portion of their business while FN Sports is the wholesale distribution part that sell to all licensed dealers in Canada. We have never noticed them cherry picking product as to who the end user will be. Some items are resticted to LE and Govt. purchase only due to legalities. We have access to their entire line of products and we sell mainly to the general public. This is a very large corporation and the bulk of their bisiness seem to be Govt. and LE but recently they have tried to be more helpful to the retail dealers. Phil.

When it was originally posted about R.Nichols everybody swore the SA availability would dry up, but since then i've seen not only the long barrel, but the CQB and carbine available at my local retailer. Something i didn't see for the couple years previous.
Maybe they're A-holes, but they're apparently filling orders.
