i recently bought a sa20.i talked about the rough trigger earlier.i put my scale on it today and it went right to the 8lb mark before firing.is this a normal weight for this rifle .thanks
There is a reason a good trigger is one of the best upgrades you can get! Geissele makes outstanding triggers, however the ALG Defense (Geissele's sister company) makes some really nice "affordable" single stage triggers that are a lot better and won't break the bank (under $100 bucks)
You can also get a lighter trigger/hammer springs, but it will only do so much as the quality of the grinding on the trigger are going to cause as many issues. And if you start lightening up the hammer spring too much you may get light primer strikes.
Arms East also carries them, but not sure if they actually have them in-stock or not. You'd have to call them to find out as they are slow at responding to Emails.
A trigger can make a world of difference. Try a Geissele and you will see why they cost so much. I have an SSA-E for a precision gun, but for a "military/duty rifle", the SSA would be a good option.
