SA80 Sling

I find myself in possession of an SA80 sling, and have not yet come to a conclusion about it.

It is awkward on all the rifles I have to try it with, but they all have bottom sling swivels and were designed for simple slings. With appropriately located attachment points it would be...less awkward.

Anyone here ever tried to use them? Is this carrying position usable for a full length rifle, or is it restricted (for those of us less than 7' tall) only to carbines/bullpups?

They're designed as a patrol sling and utilize the side loops on the L85A1/A2.

I used one for a bit on my C7 until someone stole it, and it was nice and long enough to do a comfortable carry.
