Just got my first shotgun and am a bit green with ammo types and had a couple of questions regarding sabot slugs.

1. Can a sabot slug be used in a smoothbore shotgun safely?

2. If they can be used are they worth using?

The reason I am asking is that I wanted to get a few quality four legged predator protection shells for JIC when deepwoods camping. Thanks for any input you guys might have.

Regular rifled slugs will work better, for about 25% the price. Sabots, need to be spun, to realize their full potential. They will fire safely from a smoothbore, but be a horrible waste of money, as they will just fly unstablized in whatever direction they are apt to go.
