well after not even owning it for a month, not even out to the range yet, the transfer bar on my Vaquero seems to be broken, from what i read i thought they had fixed this problem.... $650 paperweight for now...
never had a firearm issue before, would it be best to leave it intact and wait while it goes for warranty(if even able to) or to open her up and find the broken piece and just replace it?
The hammer link on my Redhawk broke. I'm not sure what's wrong with your revolver, but I know that I was able to replace the part myself (I am not gifted in mechanical ways) and the part was $3.00, delivered to my door in a few days. Good service from Snapshots in Quebec.

Damn, that would made me mighty angry.
I swear by Ruger revolvers.
If it's not something dead simple, I would of sent it back for warranty repair.
Scott,
Which Redhawk was it... 4.2in barrel perhaps?
How long have you used it, until this happened?
Regards,
Dan
...the transfer bar on my Vaquero seems to be broken...
Mine is the S/S 5.5" model, and it happened within a few months of my purchase about 4 years ago. I've not have any re-occuring problems with it since though.

Are the screws all the same length?
lol of course not thatd make things easy, each of the 3 are different sizes, front being the smallest, took it out and looks that one side of the screw has some flattened threads, hoping the hole doesnt need retapping.... or it may stay as a paperweight
Was going to buy a 4.2 GP100, but now you all have me thinking about that decision.
Stick with S&W?
M
Get some nice hardwood grips on there... oh yeah, now that's a biscuit!
