For anyone who was lucky enough to know him, I just thought I might pass on some sad news that John "Sam" McGee passed away.

Sam was a life member of Alberta Fish and Game, a decorated War hero, chopper pilot, true sportsman and generally one of the nicest folks you could have the pleasure of knowing.

He had a heck of a good run - he was 95. I will always remember his blessings at the Fish and Game banquets. "Oh great Manitou...

RIP Sam

I've met Sam a few times at the Lethbridge Shooting Range. He was a friendly fellow with a good sense of humor. Another great one gone. RIP Sam.

RIP "Sam"

The question is bound to come up so I might as well ask,
Is he being cremated?

There are strange things done in the midnight sun

By the men who moil for gold;

The Arctic trails have their secret tales

That would make your blood run cold;

The Northern Lights have seen queer sights,

But the queerest they ever did see

Was that night on the marge of Lake Lebarge

I cremated Sam McGee.
