Finally broke down and got a rifle. Kind of
Picking it up on Friday and I'm wondering about the legalities of storage. I don't have a rifle-sized safe, nor do I have the space to get one any time soon. One of those green gun lockers would be like a red flag to thieves, and I have zero confidence in their protective ability.
As I understand the regs, the gun is ok anywhere in the house as long as it's locked or disabled. Now in most cases I'd just slap a trigger lock on it and call it good. But the Sub-2000's trigger guard is actually a moving latch, so that style of lock would be ineffective. I've got a dislike for cable locks, whether founded or not. Those familiar with this gun know that it folds in half and locks with a built in key lock, but I don't know that the police would call that adequate.
Any lawyers in the audience?
