Just received my Egyptian in the mail. Upon disassembly before firing, a small piece of steel fell on the floor when I was turning the little disassembly hinge before removing the bolt and carrier. After inspecting it further, I realized it was the back portion of the firing pin. The previous owner claimed it was a safe queen for about ten yrs and he had only fired a box through it ( it is in very nice shape). Well after reading all the info on the web about the problem that seems apparrent with Egyptian 49's I guess its very possible that he was unaware of the problem. I know that I will replace that broken pin with the two piece. However the firing pin safety catch seems not to be included in the Egyptian 49's, does anybody know if you can swap bolts from a 30/06 49 that has the bolt safety catch thus further eliminating the possibility of an out of battery round going off? Thanks for the info.

"...swap bolts from a 30/06..." Hi. Not without fitting the bolt, if you can find one, for headspace. You'll have a search looking for any FN-49 parts. Gunparts, Stateside, has firing pins. $13.35US for the rear, $12.75US for the front. Plus $25US export fee.
There's no mention of the rifle on the U.S. restricted for export list, but contact Gunparts to be sure. They do not export anything that is on that list.
Try Western Gunparts too.
