I am planning my next build, a Sako 75 in 7mm WSM, I have my donor rifle now, and will likely proceed with the build this winter.
But, in my researching I have discovered a few (in USA) Sako 75 rifles for sale that were factory chambered in 7mm WSM. Sako's website doesn't show this was even an option.

I would like to know if anyone has every come across on of these in Canada, or better yet, if anyone knows where there is one for sale.

Can't say I've ever seen a Sako so chambered but will say I like the way you think I've got a rifle on order in 7wsm :) If they did in a model 75 that would add up as that was pretty much the vintage of the new wsm line up, when they actually made quite a few short 7s which seem to be all but faded in mainstream line ups now.

If it was made, it would of been in the earlier production of the Short Mags- in the "V" action and not the "SM" action.

I found a mint m75ss 270WSM in the "SM" action couple years ago bought from a fellow CGN....great rifle. Goes great with my other Sako m75 rifles.

If you find one in the USA, as mentioned, Clay at Prophet River can import it for you.

What rifle you planning to do your build on..an exisiting Sako m75 "SM" action?

Yes, I have a Sako 75, 300 WSM SM action in a grey wolf that I just purchased to do the build with.
I have a Sako 75 deluxe in 300 WSM as well, but wouldn't dare use it for a build. It's way to nice.
I know I can get Clay to import one for me, but for the extra costs, exchange rate etc. I can be most of the way through the build.

Yes,
I bought it, and it is a beauty.
Thanks for the tip finding it.
I had you and one other guy within minutes tell me about it.
I bought it that day

Skip the US one if it's the "V" action with a 22.5" barrel.

I don't think they were catalogued first year in the V action, not until the SM action.

Sako turns out some of the less-common cartridges without ever putting any info on their website. I have seen a couple factory 7WSM from the 75 line. Rumour was that a few 85s were made when that line came out but that they were all shipped to the US. I am surprised that the 7 did not gain greater popularity than the 270 and 300 WSMs.

I don't know about the Sako, but I have owned two Ruger M77 Mark II rifles in 7 WSM... it is a great cartridge... the best of the WSM bunch, IMO... and I have had most of them, including a Sambar and my current .375 WSM.

No experience with the sako rifle however from my 24" kimber montana barrel 67grns of RL26 I was getting close to 3000fps with 168 grn nosler accubond long range bullets. Thats from a short action rifle. This is also a safe load in my gun.

Amazing cartridge. Good luck with your build.
RL-23 and RL-26 take this cartridge into a completely different realm. Pushing 3100fps with 175's. Absolutely insane.
