I have the same setup with a Leupold Vari-X III 3.5 -10x scope.
I have not been too pleased with five different factory loads I tried.
The one load that my rifle did like was the Winchester Supreme load with 180 grain Accubond CT bullets.
3 shot group of 15/16". You might want to give 'em a go.

I have found that the moly coated bullets don't begin to tighten up from a clean barrel until I have shot 8-10 rounds.

I will begin reloading in the spring with the uncoated 180 accubonds and 165 tsx's.

Good luck.

I have shot the federal fusion 180gr. and federal premium with nosler accubonds 180gr. both MOA @ 100yds. Dirty or clean the rifle has surpassed my expectations in terms of accuracy. Hate that chopped off clip with the mag. action though, got the rifle off this site and didn't realise that it wasn't actually based on the short action.

I have the exact same gun and had the same problem- cleaned it, oiled it, and couldn't get any kind of decent groups. I took it into Italian Sporting goods to have them check it -turns out I was leaving too much oil in the barrel.
With the residual oil all cleaned out of the barrel it shoots great. I guess any excess oil in the rifling really throws things off.

my buddy shoots the federal fusion, 180gr's under 3/4" at 100yds. Infact, i know of lots of guys that are getting really good accuracy with this load. you probably need to start experimenting with different loads/bullets which is a common thing with guns. eventually you will find that load. shouldn't make a difference dirty or clean, i suspect that when you mention dirty the barrel is hot and after a few rounds and clean is cold. regardless, put those loads away and try different one's and you'll be surprised.

Sako 75 .300 WSM Accuracy

Love my Sako 75 Hunter in .300 WSM. In order to wring the most out of it in the accuracy dept, I had to play with bullet type and seating depth to get it to shoot around 1/2 MOA. Sierra Palma Match bullets (155gr) live at the top o' the heap for accuracy in mine, although the 165 grain Barnes TSX (3/4 MOA) come pretty close to the matchkings for accuracy from a hunting perspective (I wouldn't recommend matchkings for hunting in any event). Ballistic tips are my nemesis in this gun and 1 1/2 MOA is the best I can get them to shoot. Also, I found that groups tightened up as I worked up closer to max load with RL-19.

I also have a Finnlight but it's in .308..... It is a tack driver, albeit a different caliber from the one you're inquiring about........
