Sako 75 short action

Is the Sako 75 SA action is the same as the old Sako M591 SA action?

not even close....the 75 is a three lug design with a detachable mag. The 591 is a two lug with a floorplate.

I guess is should be a little more specific, will a 75 action fit into a stock for a 591? Is the spacing between the action bolts the same? and will the 75 have the same round recoil lug on the bottom on the frt bolt hole that the 591 has? I have been looking for another 591 action, but nobody seems to have one to sell, but there seems to be a small number of 75's around here for sale, I want to open up the bolt face to build a SA Mag. if it's possible.

You can get a Sako 75 short action with a magnum bolt face it's the Sako 75 SM (short magnum). I have one chambered in 300WSM. I bought a picatinny rail for it from Richard at Near, it's the same base that fits the Sako 75 III.
