Changing the spring made no difference. What I ended up doing was mounting a scope with a 1" tube and smaller turret caps in extra low optilock rings and it runs great now.
I took some slow motion video of it ejecting and the brass was hitting the large windage turret on my Bushnell.
I just moved the Bushnell to my A5 338 win and now have ejection issues with that one! I took some slow motion video and saw it was again hitting the turret. I moved the scope forward a bit (the scope has a large eyebox) and it now runs fine.
By the looks of it long action Sakos do not like 30 mm scopes with larger turrets. My short action L579 runs great with a 30mm tube with large turrets mounted in Iow rings.
