I have a Kodiak on order 375 H&H, by the looks of the pictures it comes with a band type strap/sling attachment.

I am looking to get a sling/strap what would you reccomend. i would think the band type attachment point would pose problem with accuracy when using a sling ie. ching sling.

I wouldent mind something that holds a couple extra rounds, leather with a rubber backing. The Mauser ones on their website look real nice only problem it says Mauser on it.

Barrel band sling attachments serve 2 purposes- They protect your hand in hard kicking rifles - not really needed in a 375 H&H, IMHO- and they allow the rifle to be slung lower, to prevent snagging on low hanging brush.

You probably shouldn't use a sling so attached as a shooting aid, but other than that, you can use whatever sling you prefer.

I rarely shoot slung up. I use military slings, the old leather ones with the double hooks and holes all along.

I recommend not carrying rounds in a sling when you are hunting.

The weight of the bullets swinging around will throw your shots off.

It is ok to use it to store your bullets in the sling but don't try a fast follow up shot because it isn't going to happen.

I use 1.25" nylon slings. If you want to take it off while in thicker bush, they roll up and fit nicely in your coat pocket.
