Sako 85 ring options please....

Are there any Sako 85 owners who know what rings are compatible and work well, OTHER than optilocks?
The 85 mounting seems strange given the great rifles they make.

30mm? 1 inch?

Sako offers optilock ring mounts which are one piece rather than the standard two piece. Any Sako/Beretta dealer should be able to track them down for you and they run around $120 rather than the higher priced offerings
 
I've held off buying one, specifically because of the scope mount shenanigans.

Back in the Forster and Finnbear days, I would put on Redfield bases, and rings, and call it a day. I'd prefer a round top receiver, D&T, thanks.
 
I use Sako ring mounts on all my Sako's except one which I needed a more more height so I went with the 2 piece Sako mounts.
 
I tried the Leupold mounts for the 85. I did not like them at all as they do not centre on the receiver as well as the Optilocks.

I looked into the NEAR rail and Talley bases but I can't get my head around only a friction fit. The lack of a locking mechanism turns me away.

I have not tried the Roedale or Contessa pic rails. Read a few positive reviews on both of these brands.

I use the Near Alpha mounts on all my guns and yes i have a 85 finnlight in 300 WM works fantastic
